Windward Farms was founded
in the late 1970's by Jacob H.
Ruhl, Donald E. Ruhl and his
wife Janice L. Ruhl. They
started as Belgian breeders and
stood the noted stallion Penn
State Congolaise. In the late
1980's Don and Janice bought
their first Percherons at the
Columbus sale. These two
Maverick daughters made the
start of the Percheron breeding
operation at Windward. We
strive to breed top quality
Percherons with depth of
pedigree, correct conformation
and motion.
